What A Life Enrichment Coach Can Do For You

By Beryl Dalton

It's easy to figure out who to see if one has a single, obvious problem in life dogging all their efforts. People who often find themselves waking up on the floor of the neighborhood bar should most likely be steered toward a substance abuse counselor. A life enrichment coach can be employed when it isn't so clear just what the problem is.

There are trained specialists in this field, or more typically those who started as such, but most have an intuitive sense for the holistic. Even without a license, there will be enough knowledge of diet to recognize a client's bad habits, those things that weaken happiness and sap energy. A coach will be able to recommend the dietary alterations that will contribute to overall success.

Diet is intimately associated with fitness, though it can take some coaching to determine where to mark the line. There are those who need to be told that it is time to give up the daily pack of cigarettes. There are those who might be better off taking karate to work off, or to discipline, underlying aggression, or to become more confident.

Joy can be elusive when the home life is suffering. Often family problems are expressions of old family curses, which typically turn out to be nothing more than ingrained behavior patterns that cannot be recognized except by a trained eye. Many find themselves in bad marriages, or in conflict with teenage children. Many also suffer stress with their parents, especially as age and infirmity enter the picture.

Dating success just might be the number one area for seeking help. Dating and single life is so often an area of acute pain, so much so that the rest of our lives can seem flat if there is a lack of success here. Heartbreak afflicts anyone. Proper coaching can help with everything and anything, from ice breaking lines to networking, from wardrobe to help with arousal.

If it isn't love, quite often the problem is money, with a dire need for financial advice a prerequisite to any other form of success. Typically there will be a distinct difference between what life coaching does and that which can better be done by an accountant or true financial analyst. But an accountant might not be the right person to ferret out underlying failings in one's general attitude toward wealth, including all the little ways people drive it away.

Many people need emotional healing, and their sessions for coaching might seem like psychotherapy. In fact, quite a few coaches began as licensed counselors, giving them a certain base of professional expertise to draw upon. They might be able recognize an addiction problem, or the signs of childhood abuse.

Generally, a psychotherapist treats the truly suffering, whereas coaching is for those blocked from achieving positive dreams. They represent a path for those seeking greatness. Making a call might be making the right move.
