Resolve Problems Through Hypnotherapy Marietta Ga

By Francis Riggs

Watching old movies you often see a magician on stage calling up a subject from the audience. He or she will be hypnotized and then told to perform something silly. He may bark like a dog. She may try to dance like a ballerina. Hypnotherapy Marietta Ga is currently used as a successful tool in the hypnotherapists office.

It has proven to be effective in helping smokers stop smoking and overweight people stop eating too much junk food. It can help anxiety-ridden people to relax and inactive people get busy applying for jobs. No one is rendered unconscious. They are simply in a state of deep relaxation.

When a session is over, the client pursues understanding of the problem he wishes to get rid of. It is deep thinking at the subconscious level that allows him to confront the obstruction to a successful life whatever it may be. If it is fear of commitment he will examine the reasons for that problem.

It is true that no one can be hypnotized without him cooperating with the therapist. He must agree to participate in the process. Just as the stage magician cannot put just anyone into a trance, the hypnotherapist cannot do so without the agreement of the client.

In most instances the professional hypnotherapist is a trained and licensed psychotherapist with additional certification in hypnotherapy. His job is leading the client through a form of therapy that will help him in some way. Prior to being hypnotized, decisions are made as to what they both want to accomplish.

Bad habits can be corrected with or without confronting the memories that led to them in the first place. It can also take the client back through unpleasant childhood memories. If an event that scared him in the early years of his life is the cause of a problem now, it can be viewed from the adult perspective which absolves the fear.

Looking at it with adult eyes will remove the misinterpreted fear in most cases. Adult understanding will render it harmless. This may require more than one office visit because the client may resist remembering unpleasant events.

The client is seated comfortably in a chair or lies down on a couch. The hypnotherapists voice is gentle and relaxed. He leads the client into that deep state of relaxation rather than sends him into it. The client will remain in contact with that voice while being unaware of stress or distractions. In that state, he is open to suggestions to remember or to make changes in his life.

At any time, if the client becomes uncomfortable, he can stop the procedure. He may balk at remembering an unpleasant childhood occurrence. The usual response is to feel very relaxed and as rested as after a nap following the session.

Fear of failure can be dispelled. The basketball player who is hesitant to try difficult moves will acquire confidence in his abilities. He will be able to play at a higher level due to being freed from his fears of not having adequate athletic ability, for example.
