Fat Loss In Men

In comparing males and females, there are certain similarities that can be seen. Both sexes can achieve fat loss and change their bodies if they desire. But males have the clear advantage when it comes to shedding the fat. The difference that allows this to occur is that males are more prone to physical and strenuous activity, while females shy from it, understandably so. But this shouldn't discourage them into thinking that they have no chance to lose weight.

What sets the male body apart from the female body in the weight loss arena is muscle. Males tend to be naturally leaner than women in that their bodies are prone to develop muscle during the development stages. Again, women also have muscle on their bodies, but males are more likely to develop it and have an increase in muscle mass.

The reason why muscle mass is more prominent in males is due to testosterone. This male hormone is found in high levels in males, while remaining at low levels in females. This male hormone is responsible for a number of tasks. Among them, creating muscle tissue within the body. Muscle in turn, burns off fat, and the more you have, the learner you become. This is why males are able to lose weight quicker than females.

Men should eat more protein-rich foods such as lean meat, poultry, and legumes to increase muscle mass. This allows the body to more effectively reduce the proportion of fat to lean mass. For male fat loss to occur more quickly, exercise should comprise the main foundation in any plans that are made. Exercise can take many forms and is not limited to spending hours in the gym.

Becoming more physically active includes playing sports such as basketball, football, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, tennis and volleyball. All of these are some examples of popular sports that can lead to weight loss. Apart from participating in sports, it can be beneficial to jog, run, bike-ride, roller-skate or swim to increase your endurance.

While sports are a popular form of exercise, working out is the clear choice when it comes to burning off fat. This doesn't imply that you can't do both at the same time. But working out is better at targeting your muscles and allows you to tone your body. Before long, you too, will be able to see the definition in your body, if you choose to exercise. All in all, anybody is capable of getting results if they try their hardest to do so.
